About Us

Since opening in 1982, the Doha Fire Station was on 24-hour call until 2012, when it was decommissioned and converted into a contemporary art space. With Doha’s art scene expanding at light speed, the city was in desperate need of a space for the country’s up and coming artistic talent to master their craft and exhibit their work. Offering nine-month courses, studio space and unlimited guidance, Doha Fire Station provides the perfect springboard for creativity, helping people take their art to the next level. The venue is open daily from 10am, exhibiting the works of some of the world’s most influential artists such Pablo Picasso and Alberto Giacometti. There’s also an ever-changing display of art produced by the Artists in Residence, so make sure to head down to catch a glimpse. If you start to feel a little peckish than fear not because Café #999 is ready and waiting to rescue you from your hunger pangs.
